This vintage Persian Bijar woollen hallway rug is a superb example of the renowned durability and density associated with Bijar weaving, often referred to as the “iron rugs of Persia.” Its compact knotting and heavy wool pile result in a remarkably sturdy textile ideal for high-traffic areas.
The design features a central medallion repeated in a linear format, framed by a field densely filled with intricate floral motifs, herati patterns, and stylised foliage. Deep crimson, indigos, and ivory dominate the palette, offering a rich, grounded visual appeal. The border is finely articulated with scrolling vines and rosettes, enhancing the regal and composed character of the rug. This piece not only adds a sense of heritage and craftsmanship but also serves as a practical and enduring decorative element in narrow spaces or hallways.
Authentic vintage and antique Persian rugs are hand-knotted with wool. Each one is an exceptional work of art and unique.
Pictures are taken in natural light to portray the most realistic colours possible. Due to the handmade and preloved nature of these rugs, slight imperfections and flaws are not considered defects.
Our rugs are professionally restored, and the fringes secured, ensuring many more years of life. Additionally, we recommend using a rug pad with a grippy back to keep your rug in place and smooth out any wrinkles that may have occurred during shipping. A rug pad will also safeguard your carpet from deterioration and, therefore, extend the life of your rug.
