This vintage South American wool kilim is a vibrant expression of Indigenous textile artistry, woven with bold geometric bands in rich tones of crimson red, navy blue, ivory, and turquoise against a muted violet-gray base. The repeating zigzag and stepped motifs evoke traditional Andean symbolism, often associated with mountains, paths, and ancestral rhythms. The horizontal layout and rhythmic colour transitions lend a strong sense of movement and cultural continuity. Crafted from hand-spun wool and finished with natural fringe, this flat-weave kilim brings warmth, texture, and authenticity to any bohemian, rustic, or globally inspired interior.

Authentic vintage and antique South American kilims are handwoven with wool. Each one is an exceptional work of art and one of a kind.

Pictures are taken in natural light to portray the most realistic colours possible. Due to these rugs' handmade and preloved nature, slight imperfections and flaws are not defects.

Our kilims are professionally restored, and the fringes secured, ensuring many more years of life.

Our kilims are professionally cleaned.

It’s 1990 all over again!

In the early 1990’s, my wife I were obsessed with hand woven, vegetable dyed Turkish carpets from Azeri/Woven Legends. We spent so much time at ABC Carpet & Home in NYC, we became good friends with the head rug buyer!! We haven’t purchased a rug in years, but I found a wonderful Woven Legends carpet at Shopvintagerugs and bought myself an early birthday present. The rug was shipped from Pakistan on Monday, made its way to Dubai, then Boston, Memphis and finally arrived to us today. I couldn’t be happier!
