This vintage Baloch rug is a lovely example of handwoven tribal artistry in wool, showcasing a narrow, elongated shape and a rich colour palette of madder red, brick, and deep brown accented with black. The field boasts a striking vertical arrangement of stepped geometric motifs and abstract tribal symbols that create a powerful linear rhythm, drawing the eye along its length. Framed by multiple intricately patterned borders featuring repeating zigzag and latch-hook designs, the rug achieves both structure and balance in its composition. The low pile, visible abrash (colour variation), and softened edges not only reflect its age but also highlight the nomadic craftsmanship, giving the rug a deeply authentic and soulful character that is quintessentially Balouch tribal weaving.
