This antique Persian Farahan Herati fragment rug, measuring nearly 13 x 7 feet, is the hauntingly beautiful last survivor of what was once a grand palace-sized rug. Its field of time-softened Herati motifs drifts in and out of view like memories on fading parchment. At the same time, the worn midnight blues, soft terracottas, and sun-washed neutrals create a ghostly, painterly surface shaped by generations of use. The remaining border panels stand like the remnants of ancient architectural columns, hinting at the immense scale and splendour the whole rug once possessed. Every thread carries the weight of history, footsteps of guests long gone, gatherings that dissolved into the past, and stories that now live only in this fragment. This is not merely a rug; it is a rescued relic of Persian craftsmanship, a dramatic and poetic reminder of a vanished masterpiece.
Authentic vintage and antique Persian rugs are hand-knotted with wool. Each one is an exceptional work of art and one of a kind.
