This exquisite vintage Egyptian cotton embroidery textile features a stylised Nile boat scene, hand-stitched on a natural cotton ground in a bold folk-art style. The composition depicts a long ceremonial boat, its rhythmic rows of figures rowing in unison across geometric blue waves, with a tall central mast and radiating lines that create balance and movement inspired by ancient Egyptian wall art. The use of intense, flat colours such as deep blue, red, black, turquoise, and earthy tones, along with visible hand embroidery, gives the piece a graphic, tapestry-like character. Framed by a rich indigo border, the textile reflects Egypt’s tradition of storytelling through embroidery and works beautifully as a decorative wall hanging or textile artwork.
