This beautiful antique Persian Karaja rug features the bold, characterful geometry that defines the weaving tradition of the Heriz–Karaja region. Its richly aged palette blends deep brick red, soft peach, midnight blue, and muted emerald, all softened by time for a perfectly distressed, authentic patina. The central field is filled with angular star medallions, stylised floral forms, and crisp hooked motifs, creating a striking, energetic composition. A vibrant multi-layered border frames the rug with classic Karaja elements, including latch-hook designs, small rosettes, and intricately drawn vinework. Full of charm, folk artistry, and expressive colour, this piece embodies the rustic elegance and enduring appeal of antique village rugs from northwest Persia.
