This vintage Persian decorative Bijar rug is a magnificent example of the renowned weaving tradition of the Bijar region of western Persia, often referred to as the "Iron Rug" for its exceptional durability and dense weave. The rug showcases a rich, dynamic design, centred on a deep navy field, filled with a lattice of floral and geometric motifs in crimson, ivory, gold, and soft blue.

The medallion-style layout is subtly integrated into the field, with elegant leaf and vine motifs radiating outward, surrounded by stylised rosettes and diamond forms. The saturated red spandrels and vibrant blue corners create a dramatic contrast, while the intricately patterned borders, featuring scrolling floral vines and serrated forms, frame the composition with rhythmic precision.

Woven in fine wool with tight knotting, this rug embodies both strength and artistry, making it ideal for use in high-traffic areas or as a refined statement piece in traditional or eclectic interiors.
