This exquisite antique Kurdish Kelleh rug, dating from the 1900s, is a remarkable example of traditional tribal weaving and time-honoured craftsmanship. Hand-knotted from pure wool, its elongated format features an intricate arrangement of stylised floral motifs, angular vines and decorative medallion forms across a dramatic deep indigo field.

Warm tones of madder red, terracotta, muted coral, ivory, soft blue and earthy brown create a rich, beautifully aged palette. A broad ivory border filled with geometric flowering motifs frames the composition, complemented by several finely detailed guard borders that add depth and balance.

The naturally worn pile, softened colours and visible patina reflect more than a century of history, giving the rug an authentic and soulful character. Ideal for a hallway, gallery-like space or distinctive living area, this one-of-a-kind antique Kurdish Kelleh brings warmth, artistry and enduring heritage to an interior.
