This antique Caucasian Kazak wool rug is a striking example of tribal artistry, celebrated for its bold geometric patterns and rich, earthy palette. The rug features a series of large diamond medallions running down the centre, each enclosing stylised tree-of-life motifs in coral red and terracotta tones, set against a deep indigo field. The corner spandrels mirror the inner medallions, featuring cream backgrounds, which add contrast and balance to the composition.
Surrounding the field is a finely detailed border of geometric flowerheads and hook motifs, executed in shades of rust, ivory, blue, and black, framed by a delicate guard stripe. Handwoven with handspun wool and natural dyes, this piece exemplifies the nomadic spirit and vibrant tradition of the Caucasus. Its durable weave and robust design make it both a collector’s piece and a bold addition to rustic, eclectic, or heritage-inspired interiors.
Authentic vintage and antique Caucasian rugs are hand-knotted with wool. Each one is an exceptional work of art and unique.

Our rugs are professionally restored, and the fringes secured, ensuring many more years of life. Additionally, we recommend using a rug pad with a grippy back to keep your rug in place and to smooth out any wrinkles that may have occurred during shipping. Using a rug pad will also safeguard your carpet from deterioration and, therefore, extend the life of your rug.
