This petite and exquisite vintage Egyptian handwoven tapestry kilim is a beautiful creation by Nadra from the renowned Wissa Wassef Workshop. Expertly crafted on a cream-toned ground, the design bursts with life in a lush, stylised garden scene. Layers of foliage in soft blues, earthy browns, golden ochres, and muted greens interlace to form a rich, textural composition. Scattered among the branches, delicately woven birds in complementary pastel and jewel tones add movement and charm, evoking a sense of harmony between nature and art.

Framed by simple linear borders and finished with fringes at both ends, this tapestry is signed in the lower right corner in Arabic script, marking its authenticity and artisan heritage. Its petite size makes it perfect for display as a wall hanging, showcasing not only the vibrant colour harmony and intricate weaving techniques but also the timeless artistry of Egypt's celebrated Wissa Wassef collective.

Authentic vintage and antique Egyptian kilims are hand-woven with wool. Each one is an exceptional work of art and one of a kind.

Pictures are taken in natural light to portray the most realistic colours possible. Due to these rugs' handmade and preloved nature, slight imperfections and flaws are not defects.

Our rugs are professionally restored, and the fringes secured, ensuring many more years of life. In addition, we advise using a rug pad with a grip back to keep your rug in position and smooth out any wrinkles from shipping. A rug pad will also safeguard your carpet from deterioration and, therefore, extend the life of your rug.

Our kilims are professionally cleaned.

It’s 1990 all over again!

In the early 1990’s, my wife I were obsessed with hand woven, vegetable dyed Turkish carpets from Azeri/Woven Legends. We spent so much time at ABC Carpet & Home in NYC, we became good friends with the head rug buyer!! We haven’t purchased a rug in years, but I found a wonderful Woven Legends carpet at Shopvintagerugs and bought myself an early birthday present. The rug was shipped from Pakistan on Monday, made its way to Dubai, then Boston, Memphis and finally arrived to us today. I couldn’t be happier!
