This vintage Baluch tribal Kelleh rug is a handwoven wool piece featuring traditional geometric motifs arranged in repeating rows of guls within a series of narrow guard borders. Its rich earthy palette of browns, rusts, and muted reds is softened by age, creating a warm, time-worn patina that reflects its mid-20th-century origins. The long, narrow Kelleh format, characteristic of Baluch nomadic weaving, lends itself beautifully to hallways or elongated spaces. Subtle abrash from natural dyes and areas of wear enhance its authentic, rustic charm. At the same time, the fine wool-on-wool construction and supple texture speak to the durability and artistry of tribal craftsmanship from the border regions of Iran, Afghanistan, and Pakistan.
