$245 $326

Size: 5 x 2.7 ft.

Origin: Peru

Circa: 1970s

Material: Pure Wool

This beautiful vintage Peruvian alpaca tapestry features a charming depiction of a white llama at its centre, a symbolic animal deeply tied to Andean culture and heritage. Handwoven in warm earthy shades of brown, tan, and cream, the design is framed by bold stepped geometric patterns reminiscent of traditional Inca motifs. The use of alpaca wool gives the textile a soft yet durable quality, with natural fibres adding depth and texture to the weave.

Both decorative and cultural, this piece captures the spirit of Peru’s rich weaving traditions, making it a meaningful wall hanging or collector’s textile that embodies authenticity, craftsmanship, and the timeless charm of the Andes.

Authentic vintage and antique South American kilims are handwoven with cotton or wool. Each one is an exceptional work of art and one of a kind.

Pictures are taken in natural light to portray the most realistic colours possible. Due to these kilims' handmade and preloved nature, slight imperfections and flaws are not defects.

Our kilims are professionally restored, and the fringes secured, ensuring many more years of life.

Our kilims are professionally cleaned.

It’s 1990 all over again!

In the early 1990’s, my wife I were obsessed with hand woven, vegetable dyed Turkish carpets from Azeri/Woven Legends. We spent so much time at ABC Carpet & Home in NYC, we became good friends with the head rug buyer!! We haven’t purchased a rug in years, but I found a wonderful Woven Legends carpet at Shopvintagerugs and bought myself an early birthday present. The rug was shipped from Pakistan on Monday, made its way to Dubai, then Boston, Memphis and finally arrived to us today. I couldn’t be happier!
