$576 $961

Size: 7.6 x 3.9 ft.

Origin: Morocco

Circa: 1980s

Material: Sabra Cactus Silk

This cactus silk vintage Moroccan tribal kilim is a luminous and delicately woven textile, crafted from sabra (cactus silk) fibres renowned for their silky sheen and soft texture. The kilim showcases a refined palette of pale ivory, soft grey, muted gold, and gentle peach tones, arranged in narrow horizontal bands filled with a variety of traditional Berber geometric motifs, such as diamonds, chevrons, and crosses.

At its centre, a prominent diamond medallion draws the eye, adding a focal point of symmetry and balance within the rhythmic pattern of the overall design. The borders are framed with a dense lattice of small motifs, creating a harmonious enclosure around the richly decorated field.

This kilim exemplifies the artistry and heritage of Moroccan weaving, blending decorative charm with cultural symbolism. It would make a stunning addition as a wall hanging, draped textile, or light floor covering, bringing both texture and a touch of tribal elegance to any space.

Authentic vintage and antique Moroccan kilims are handwoven with silk, wool and cotton. Each one is an exceptional work of art and one of a kind.

Pictures are taken in natural light to portray the most realistic colours possible. Due to these rugs' handmade and preloved nature, slight imperfections and flaws are not considered defects.

Our kilims are professionally restored, and the fringes secured, ensuring many more years of life. In addition, we advise using a rug pad with a grip back to keep your rug in position and to smooth out any wrinkles from shipping. Using a rug pad will also safeguard your carpet from deterioration and, therefore, extend the life of your rug.

Our kilims are professionally cleaned.

It’s 1990 all over again!

In the early 1990’s, my wife I were obsessed with hand woven, vegetable dyed Turkish carpets from Azeri/Woven Legends. We spent so much time at ABC Carpet & Home in NYC, we became good friends with the head rug buyer!! We haven’t purchased a rug in years, but I found a wonderful Woven Legends carpet at Shopvintagerugs and bought myself an early birthday present. The rug was shipped from Pakistan on Monday, made its way to Dubai, then Boston, Memphis and finally arrived to us today. I couldn’t be happier!
