Material: Pure Wool & Silk
The pinnacle of Persian Isfahan carpets is the Seirafian Gol-o-bol bol, or "Flowers & Nightingales" in Farsi. This exquisite piece showcases exotic birds, majestic butterflies, and dazzling flowers, all meticulously arranged on a cream background that beautifully complements a regal ruby-red border. Crafted from the finest cocoon silk and hand-spun Kurk wool, it is a true masterpiece.
The Late Master Haji Agha Reza Seirafian (1881-1975), the visionary founder of Seirafian Carpets, was driven by a profound passion for his craft. His dream was to create carpets of unparalleled quality, ushering in a new era in the history of hand-woven textiles. He gathered the most talented designers and skilled weavers to realise this vision, using natural dyes and the best raw materials.
This extraordinary museum piece, commissioned by the Late Shah of Iran, Raza Pahlavi, carries a rich history as it was acquired from a personal friend of the Shah. Within this magnificent rug lies a piece of history, enriching the timeless legacy of Persian carpet weaving.
