This vibrant vintage Indian Phulkari textile showcases the exuberant folk artistry of Punjab, hand-embroidered in rich silk floss on handwoven cotton. Dominated by vivid hues of magenta, orange, deep plum, and golden yellow, the textile is framed with concentric borders and filled with floral and geometric motifs that symbolise prosperity and celebration.
The central field features a symmetrical garden-like composition with stylised flower stalks, leafy arches, and star-shaped medallions enclosed in bold rectangular frames. Each section is intricately worked in the traditional darning stitch technique on the reverse, a hallmark of authentic Phulkari craftsmanship.
Its luminous threads catch the light beautifully, once intended for festive or matrimonial use. This textile not only holds visual splendour but also carries cultural weight, reflecting the joyful spirit and generational artistry of Punjabi women.
Authentic vintage and antique Indian textiles are handwoven with silk and cotton. Each one is an exceptional work of art and unique.
