This exquisite vintage Uzbek textile is a hand-embroidered suzani made of silk and cotton, featuring a central floral medallion surrounded by an intricate field of pomegranate, tulip, and rosette motifs symbolising fertility and abundance. The embroidery, done in rich silk threads of red, green, yellow, and blue on a natural cotton ground, showcases the traditional chain-stitch technique characteristic of Uzbek craftsmanship. The balanced composition and flowing vine border reflect the artistry of regions like Bukhara or Samarkand, where such suzanis were traditionally created as part of a bride’s dowry. With its harmonious colours, meticulous needlework, and cultural depth, this piece beautifully embodies the spirit of Central Asian textile heritage.
