This woollen vintage Finnish Rya rug is celebrated for its plush texture and expressive folk artistry. Woven with a deep charcoal-grey background, the carpet features a lively scattering of abstract floral motifs in vivid pink, red, coral, orange, and cream tones. The design, rendered in a painterly style, evokes the spirit of Nordic flora through bold, slightly naïve forms and a rhythmic, organic layout. Soft fringes adorn the bottom edge, complementing the rug's tactile and decorative appeal. This piece embodies the warmth and charm of mid-century Scandinavian textile craftsmanship with its dense pile and rich colours.

The vintage carpet was masterfully hand-executed with the finest wool, following traditional and refined weaving techniques, and reached the Middle Ages.

Its style, Rya, developed centuries ago in Scandinavia to protect people, especially mariners living off the sea, from severe weather conditions.

Despite their historical heritage, the antique bears have an exceptionally modern design, set in the aesthetic standards of the 1950s.
