The apogee of Persian Isfahan carpets is the Seirafian Gol-o-bol bol, Flowers & Nightingales or Gol-o-bol bol in Farsi, exotic birds, majestic butterflies & dazzling flowers are methodically placed on the cream ground, which harmonizes the regal ruby red coloured border. Optimal cocoon silk and hand-spun Kurk wool were commissioned in the making of this masterpiece.
The Late Master Haji Agha Reza Seirafian (1881-1975) was the founder of Seirafian Carpets, and his deep-rooted love inspired him to open a new chapter in the history of
hand-woven carpets, his dream was to produce supreme and unparalleled carpets.
To realize his dream, he employed the most talented designers and skilful weavers and also made use of natural dyes and the best raw materials, this one of a kind museum piece was commissioned for the Late Shah of Iran (Raza Pahlavi) and acquired from a personal friend of the Late Shah.
A part of history lives within this magnificent rug which compliments the thousand
year-old legacy of Persian carpets.
