This exquisite vintage silk Turkoman double-sided rug is a rare masterpiece of nomadic artistry and luxury. Handwoven with fine silk, it features two distinct faces, each side showcasing rich patterns and radiant colours. One side is divided into four quadrants, each adorned with rows of miniature Tekke guls in vibrant shades of ivory, ochre, and russet. At the same time, the other displays a more traditional layout of large, evenly spaced guls framed by intricate borders on a golden-cream ground.
The deep burgundy and crimson borders are detailed with stylised vines and motifs, enhancing the sense of opulence. Its silk construction gives it a lustrous sheen and an incredibly soft touch, making it not just a decorative rug but a true collector's treasure. Ideal for displaying on the floor or as a luxurious wall tapestry.
Authentic vintage and antique Turkoman rugs are hand-knotted with silk or wool. Each one is an exceptional work of art and unique.
Pictures are taken in natural light to portray the most realistic colours possible. Due to the handmade and preloved nature of these rugs, slight imperfections and flaws are not considered defects.
Our rugs are professionally restored, and the fringes secured, ensuring many more years of life. Additionally, we recommend using a rug pad with a grippy back to keep your rug in place and to smooth out any wrinkles that may have occurred during shipping. Using a rug pad will also safeguard your carpet from deterioration and, therefore, extend the life of your rug.
