In the 18th and 19th centuries, some rug workshops moved away from abstract patterns, choosing instead of depicting subjects taken from classical prose and poetry. Instead, scenes of country life, hunting and mythical subjects were woven in silk and wool.

This exquisite rug was drawn directly from a Louis XIX Gobelin tapestry from the series Les sujets de la Fable after the drawings by Raphael.

Depicting a mythological scene with Bacchus and Ariadne, this exceptionally dignified and outstanding silk work of art would make a statement in any chateau.

Authentic modern and revival Chinese rugs are hand-knotted with wool or silk. Each one is an exceptional work of art and one of a kind.

Pictures are taken in natural light to portray the most realistic colours possible.

My Grandmother from Finland's rug comes home

I was overjoyed as was my family in the U.S. to find this long lost rya rug again. We loved it hanging on her farmhouse wall and when she died it somehow was lost to our family.
