This is a vintage Turkish woollen kilim, beautifully handwoven in earthy tones. The kilim features a terracotta ground adorned with a striking geometric lattice pattern in olive green, interspersed with stylised floral motifs in soft ivory. Additional ivory motifs are scattered in the corners, adding a subtle decorative touch.
The bold and harmonious design reflects the traditional Anatolian weaving aesthetic. The texture is flatwoven, typical of kilims, with a slightly rustic charm and a lightweight feel. Fringes at the ends complete the piece, enhancing its artisanal character.

In the early 1990’s, my wife I were obsessed with hand woven, vegetable dyed Turkish carpets from Azeri/Woven Legends. We spent so much time at ABC Carpet & Home in NYC, we became good friends with the head rug buyer!! We haven’t purchased a rug in years, but I found a wonderful Woven Legends carpet at Shopvintagerugs and bought myself an early birthday present. The rug was shipped from Pakistan on Monday, made its way to Dubai, then Boston, Memphis and finally arrived to us today. I couldn’t be happier!
