Origin: Afghanistan

This lovely modern Shirvan design woollen hallway runner kilim is a vibrant handwoven piece inspired by the rich weaving traditions of the Caucasus. Its striking pattern features bold diamond medallions arranged in a vertical sequence, each filled with stepped geometric motifs in lively shades of red, green, purple, orange, and blue, all set against a soft ivory ground. The borders, woven in a refreshing turquoise tone, are adorned with alternating diamond motifs in vivid contrasting colours, enhancing the overall rhythm and balance.

Crafted from pure wool in a flatweave technique, this kilim is durable, lightweight, and ideally suited for long, narrow spaces such as corridors or entryways. With its modern interpretation of the classic Shirvan style, it brings both cultural heritage and a burst of colour into contemporary interiors, making it a standout decorative and functional piece.

Authentic modern and revival Afghan kilims are handwoven with wool. Each one is an exceptional work of art and one of a kind.

Pictures are taken in natural light to portray the most realistic colours possible.

Our kilims are professionally cleaned.

It’s 1990 all over again!

In the early 1990’s, my wife I were obsessed with hand woven, vegetable dyed Turkish carpets from Azeri/Woven Legends. We spent so much time at ABC Carpet & Home in NYC, we became good friends with the head rug buyer!! We haven’t purchased a rug in years, but I found a wonderful Woven Legends carpet at Shopvintagerugs and bought myself an early birthday present. The rug was shipped from Pakistan on Monday, made its way to Dubai, then Boston, Memphis and finally arrived to us today. I couldn’t be happier!
