Size: 4.3 x 2.9 ft.

Origin: Afghanistan

Material: Pure Wool

This modern Afghan Shirvan kilim is a vibrant handwoven flatweave that blends traditional Caucasian-inspired motifs with a fresh, lively palette. The field is dominated by a sequence of bold diamond medallions, each layered with stepped geometric patterns in rich hues of saffron yellow, terracotta red, emerald green, deep plum, sky blue, and ivory. The interplay of warm and cool colors gives the design a rhythmic balance, while the surrounding borders decorated with stylized cross motifs in red and ivory frame the piece with structure and harmony.

Handwoven in wool using time-honored flatweave techniques, this kilim is lightweight yet durable, making it suitable for both practical use and decorative display. Its Shirvan-inspired geometry, combined with Afghan craftsmanship, creates a piece that bridges heritage and modern taste perfect for bringing warmth, color, and cultural authenticity into any living space.

Authentic modern and revival Afghani kilims are handwoven with wool. Each one is an exceptional work of art and one of a kind.

Pictures are taken in natural light to portray the most realistic colours possible.

Our kilims are professionally cleaned.

It’s 1990 all over again!

In the early 1990’s, my wife I were obsessed with hand woven, vegetable dyed Turkish carpets from Azeri/Woven Legends. We spent so much time at ABC Carpet & Home in NYC, we became good friends with the head rug buyer!! We haven’t purchased a rug in years, but I found a wonderful Woven Legends carpet at Shopvintagerugs and bought myself an early birthday present. The rug was shipped from Pakistan on Monday, made its way to Dubai, then Boston, Memphis and finally arrived to us today. I couldn’t be happier!
