Modern Afghan Anatolian Kilim 5' x 3'5"

$277 $370

Size: 5 x 3.5 ft.

Origin: Afghanistan

Material: Pure Wool

This modern Afghan Anatolian kilim is a lively handwoven flatweave that captures the essence of traditional tribal artistry with a refreshing modern palette. The design is arranged in vertical rows of bold diamond medallions, each outlined with stepped edges and filled with stylized motifs in rich shades of burgundy, rust orange, sage green, ochre, ivory, and soft blue. The alternating medallions create a rhythmic pattern across the field, balanced by playful geometric fillers in warm and cool tones. Framed by a simple ivory border accented with angular tribal motifs, the kilim radiates both harmony and energy. Handwoven in wool using time-honored flatweave techniques, it is durable, versatile, and deeply rooted in the Anatolian weaving tradition while adapted by Afghan artisans for today’s interiors. A perfect piece to bring heritage, vibrancy, and a touch of folk-art charm to modern homes.

Authentic, modern, and contemporary Afghan kilims are handwoven with wool. Each one is an exceptional work of art and one of a kind.

Pictures are taken in natural light to portray the most realistic colours possible.

Our kilims are professionally cleaned.

It’s 1990 all over again!

In the early 1990’s, my wife I were obsessed with hand woven, vegetable dyed Turkish carpets from Azeri/Woven Legends. We spent so much time at ABC Carpet & Home in NYC, we became good friends with the head rug buyer!! We haven’t purchased a rug in years, but I found a wonderful Woven Legends carpet at Shopvintagerugs and bought myself an early birthday present. The rug was shipped from Pakistan on Monday, made its way to Dubai, then Boston, Memphis and finally arrived to us today. I couldn’t be happier!
