This vibrant vintage Persian Shiraz kilim is a striking example of tribal artistry, handwoven with bold geometric flair and symbolic storytelling. The design features rows of stylised bird motifs arranged in alternating hues of burnt orange, ivory, chocolate brown, turquoise, and saffron on a warm, brick-red field. These repeated bird figures, common in Shiraz kilims, symbolise protection, fertility, and harmony with nature.
A multi-stripe border frames the composition, showcasing traditional stepped motifs in earthy tones that lend structure and contrast to the dynamic field. The palette is rich and naturally dyed, giving the flatweave both warmth and authenticity.
Lightweight yet durable, this kilim is crafted entirely from hand-spun wool, making it ideal for layering, wall display, or high-traffic areas. An authentic piece of nomadic charm, perfect for adding colour and culture to any interior.
Authentic vintage and antique Persian kilims are handwoven with wool. Each one is an exceptional work of art and unique.
Pictures are taken in natural light to portray the most realistic colours possible. Due to the handmade and preloved nature of these rugs, slight imperfections and flaws are not considered defects.
Our kilims are professionally restored, and the fringes secured, ensuring many more years of life. Additionally, we recommend using a rug pad with a grippy back to keep your kilim in place and to smooth out any wrinkles that may have occurred during shipping. Using a rug pad will also safeguard your kilim from deterioration and therefore extend the life of your kilim.
