This beautiful vintage Turkmen rug exudes quiet strength and timeless tribal elegance. Handwoven by Turkmen nomads, it features a distinctive Tekke gul pattern arranged in repeated vertical columns, each gul a traditional tribal emblem passed down through generations.
Woven in a deep, earthy palette of rust red, walnut brown, charcoal, and subtle rosewood accents, the rug showcases a harmonious rhythm of geometric motifs. The intricate borders, layered in multiple bands, are filled with finely detailed motifs, including hooked medallions, diamonds, and comb-like symbols, each carrying cultural and protective significance.
The rug’s soft, oxidised patina speaks of its age and authenticity, adding warmth and character that only time can create. Ideal for grounding modern, rustic, or traditional interiors, this Turkmen rug offers both aesthetic depth and a rich historical heritage.
Authentic vintage and antique Turkoman rugs are hand-knotted with wool. Each one is an exceptional work of art and one of a kind.
Pictures are taken in natural light to portray the most realistic colours possible. Due to the handmade and preloved nature of these rugs, slight imperfections and flaws are not considered defects.
Our rugs are professionally restored, and the fringes secured, ensuring many more years of life. Additionally, we recommend using a rug pad with a grippy back to keep your rug in place and to smooth out any wrinkles that may have occurred during shipping. Using a rug pad will also safeguard your carpet from deterioration and, therefore, extend the life of your rug.
