This beautiful Caucasian Kazak wool tribal rug is a vibrant and iconic example of traditional South Caucasian weaving. Featuring a bold, architectural composition, the rug is dominated by three large cruciform medallions rendered in deep indigo and brick red, outlined with golden accents that give the pattern clarity and strength. These medallions are symmetrically arranged across a striking madder red field, interspersed with smaller hooked rosettes and tribal star motifs that enhance its geometric balance.
The wide main border showcases a classic Kazak motif: rows of eight-pointed stars and floral elements, rendered in shades of navy, sky blue, soft green, and coral, surrounded by smaller running water and zigzag guard borders. The palette, achieved through natural dyes, is vivid yet earthy, giving the rug a harmonious tribal charm.
Woven from hand-spun wool, the pile is dense yet soft, reflecting the durability and craftsmanship of nomadic artisans. This rug not only reflects the aesthetic sensibilities of the Caucasus tribes but also carries with it a sense of heritage and timeless design, perfect as a statement piece for both traditional and modern interiors.
Authentic vintage and antique Caucasian rugs are hand-knotted with wool. Each one is an exceptional work of art and one of a kind.

Our rugs are professionally restored, and the fringes secured, ensuring many more years of life. In addition, we advise using a rug pad with a grip back to keep your rug in position and to smooth out any wrinkles from shipping. Using a rug pad will also safeguard your carpet from deterioration and, therefore, extend the life of your rug.
