This exquisite vintage Turkmen hallway runner rug is a bold and captivating display of tribal heritage and geometric precision. Woven in rich hues of terracotta red, deep brown, and soft beige, the rug features a striking row of large diamond-shaped medallions stretching along the centre field, each filled with intricate hooked motifs and star-like floral elements symbolic of protection and prosperity.

The elongated layout is framed by layered borders that echo traditional Turkmen designs, including repeating rosettes, sawtooth edges, and stepped motifs. The symmetry and rhythm of the composition give the runner a sense of both movement and balance, perfect for drawing the eye down a corridor or passageway.

Hand-knotted in wool with a low, durable pile, this rug is not only a functional piece for narrow spaces but also a statement of cultural artistry ideal for interiors seeking authenticity, warmth, and timeless tribal flair.

Authentic vintage and antique Turkoman rugs are hand-knotted with wool. Each one is an exceptional work of art and unique.

Pictures are taken in natural light to portray the most realistic colours possible. Due to the handmade and preloved nature of these rugs, slight imperfections and flaws are not considered defects.

Our rugs are professionally restored, and the fringes secured, ensuring many more years of life. Additionally, we recommend using a rug pad with a grippy back to keep your rug in place and to smooth out any wrinkles that may have occurred during shipping. Using a rug pad will also safeguard your carpet from deterioration and, therefore, extend the life of your rug.

Our rugs are professionally cleaned.

It’s 1990 all over again!

In the early 1990’s, my wife I were obsessed with hand woven, vegetable dyed Turkish carpets from Azeri/Woven Legends. We spent so much time at ABC Carpet & Home in NYC, we became good friends with the head rug buyer!! We haven’t purchased a rug in years, but I found a wonderful Woven Legends carpet at Shopvintagerugs and bought myself an early birthday present. The rug was shipped from Pakistan on Monday, made its way to Dubai, then Boston, Memphis and finally arrived to us today. I couldn’t be happier!
