This antique Indian Agra hallway runner rug, likely from the late 19th to early 20th century, features a rare pistachio green field adorned with large-scale curvilinear floral motifs, including stylised palmettes, rosettes, and scrolling vines. The richly detailed ruby-red border is filled with floral medallions and elongated cartouches, framed by intricate guard borders. Hand-knotted with a wool pile on a cotton foundation, the rug reflects the opulence of Mughal-influenced Agra weaving traditions and Persian design sensibilities. Its elongated shape makes it ideal for hallways or gallery spaces, adding a touch of refined elegance and timeless charm.
Authentic antique Indian Agra rugs are hand-knotted with wool. Each one is an exceptional work of art and one of a kind.

Our rugs are professionally restored, and the fringes secured, ensuring many more years of life. In addition, we advise using a rug pad with a grip back to keep your rug in position and to smooth out any wrinkles from shipping. Using a rug pad will also safeguard your carpet from deterioration and, therefore, extend the life of your rug.
