This modern Afghan Kazak kilim runner is a vivid showcase of tribal artistry, designed to bring both warmth and character into narrow spaces. Its central field features a striking chain of large diamond medallions, each outlined in bold serrated motifs and filled with stepped geometric patterns in crimson, turquoise, saffron, and orange. The background alternates with soft ivory, creating a strong contrast that highlights the vibrancy of the design. Flanking the medallions, colorful totem-like motifs in shades of blue, pink, green, and maroon add rhythm and balance, framed by a simple ivory border for structure. Handwoven in wool using the flatweave technique, this runner combines durability with artistry, embodying the Kazak tradition while presenting a fresh, modern palette. Perfect for hallways, entryways, or as a statement accent in any interior, it infuses heritage with contemporary energy.

Authentic, modern, and contemporary Afghan kilims are handwoven with wool. Each one is an exceptional work of art and one of a kind.

Pictures are taken in natural light to portray the most realistic colours possible.

Our kilims are professionally cleaned.

It’s 1990 all over again!

In the early 1990’s, my wife I were obsessed with hand woven, vegetable dyed Turkish carpets from Azeri/Woven Legends. We spent so much time at ABC Carpet & Home in NYC, we became good friends with the head rug buyer!! We haven’t purchased a rug in years, but I found a wonderful Woven Legends carpet at Shopvintagerugs and bought myself an early birthday present. The rug was shipped from Pakistan on Monday, made its way to Dubai, then Boston, Memphis and finally arrived to us today. I couldn’t be happier!
