This vintage Persian Khamseh rug is a vibrant example of tribal artistry from southwestern Iran, woven by nomadic weavers of the Khamseh confederation. It features a bold central medallion with jagged edges in rich tones of brick red, deep indigo, ivory, and soft brown.
The field is densely filled with stylised floral motifs, abstract animals, and symbolic tribal forms, all arranged with a spontaneous, expressive rhythm. The dark-toned corners echo the medallion’s palette, while the ivory border, adorned with continuous rosettes and vine motifs, adds balance and softness.
Hand-knotted in wool with natural dyes, this rug offers exceptional durability and a rich, patina-like finish. A striking piece of Persian tribal heritage, it brings warmth, depth, and authenticity to any interior.
Authentic vintage and antique Persian rugs are hand-knotted with wool. Each one is an exceptional work of art and unique.

Our rugs are professionally restored, and the fringes secured, ensuring many more years of life. Additionally, we recommend using a rug pad with a grippy back to keep your rug in place and to smooth out any wrinkles that may have occurred during shipping. Using a rug pad will also safeguard your carpet from deterioration and, therefore, extend the life of your rug.
