This vibrant vintage Moroccan Boucherouite rag rug bursts with expressive colour and folk artistry, crafted using recycled textiles in the traditional Berber style. At its heart lies a bold, asymmetrical diamond medallion rendered in deep indigo and black, framed by radiant red, coral, and soft pink accents that pulse with energy. The layered background shifts through rich oceanic tones, teal, turquoise, cobalt, and grey, creating a dreamy, landscape-like depth. Flanked by symbolic abstract motifs and surrounded by a sunny golden-yellow border sprinkled with floral forms, this rug embodies spontaneity, resilience, and creativity. The materials used to make them include recycled rag strips and yarns from textile remnants, such as wool, cotton, synthetic fibres, and plastic. Production began in the 1960s and 1970s around Beni Mellal and Boujad, and today, they are manufactured throughout Morocco.
