This vintage Scandinavian Rya rug is a striking example of mid-century modern design, blending geometry and warmth in perfect harmony. Featuring a bold honeycomb pattern composed of layered hexagons, the design unfolds in rich tones of caramel, espresso, ochre, and cream over a soft beige background. The deep wool pile adds a plush, inviting texture, while the gradient effect lends a sense of movement and depth. Both artistic and functional, this hand-knotted piece is ideal for adding retro character and cosy sophistication to any interior space.
The vintage carpet was masterfully handcrafted with the finest wool, following traditional and refined weaving techniques that date back to the Middle Ages.
Its style, Rya, was developed centuries ago in Scandinavia to protect the people, especially the mariners living off the sea, from the severe weather conditions.
Despite its historical heritage, the antique bears have an exceptionally modern design that is set in the aesthetic standards of the 50s.
