This is a charming vintage Persian Karaja rug, handwoven in the rugged mountains of Northwest Iran. It showcases the signature Karaja geometric style, with a striking central medallion flanked by smaller companion medallions, all set against a rich brick-red field. Shades of deep indigo, soft ivory, and muted teal bring depth and balance to the bold angular motifs. The intricate latch-hook and stepped forms in the field are framed by a classic Herati-inspired main border, where repeating rosettes and angular vine scrolls create a rhythmic harmony.
Woven from durable wool with a tight hand-knotting technique, this rug carries a beautiful patina and gentle wear, reflecting decades of use and adding to its authentic vintage charm. Its bold yet balanced composition makes it ideal for adding character and warmth to both traditional and modern interiors.
Authentic vintage and antique Persian rugs are hand-knotted with wool. Each one is an exceptional work of art and unique.

Our rugs are professionally restored, and the fringes secured, ensuring many more years of life. Additionally, we recommend using a rug pad with a grippy back to keep your rug in place and to smooth out any wrinkles that may have occurred during shipping. Using a rug pad will also safeguard your carpet from deterioration and, therefore, extend the life of your rug.
