This striking vintage Persian Mahal rug showcases the grandeur and elegance of traditional Persian village weaving. Hand-knotted in the early to mid-20th century, it features a rich red field centred by an octagonal medallion filled with floral arabesques and stylised palmettes in deep navy, ivory, and apricot tones.
Floral corner spandrels echo the medallion's palette, creating harmony across the field, while the detailed border is composed of rosette and vine motifs in a saturated red and navy palette. The intricate design and fine craftsmanship reflect the Mahal region's long-standing reputation for producing decorative rugs with bold, floral arrangements and exceptional wool quality.
With its dense weave, lustrous wool pile, and timeless appeal, this Persian Mahal rug offers both durability and a sense of warmth, making it a perfect centrepiece for classic interiors.
Authentic vintage and antique Persian rugs are hand-knotted with wool. Each one is an exceptional work of art and unique.
