This petite vintage Baloch wool rug is a powerful expression of tribal heritage and nomadic craftsmanship. Hand-knotted with lustrous wool, the rug features a distinctive double prayer niche (mihrab) design, a hallmark of Baloch weaving tradition. Set against a deep, nearly black ground, the richly detailed mihrabs are adorned with geometric columns and stylised floral patterns in earthy shades of rust, terracotta, burnt orange, and walnut brown.
The surrounding borders echo the theme with rows of eight-petaled rosettes and hooked motifs, creating a rhythmic frame that enhances the central composition. The use of natural dyes and handspun wool gives the rug a warm, velvety texture and subtle sheen.
Compact yet full of character, this rug serves beautifully as a meditative piece, wall hanging, or accent in an intimate space, honouring the Baloch people's centuries-old weaving legacy.
Authentic vintage and antique Balochi rugs are hand-knotted with wool. Each one is an exceptional work of art and unique.

Our rugs are professionally restored, and the fringes secured, ensuring many more years of life. Additionally, we recommend using a rug pad with a grippy back to keep your rug in place and to smooth out any wrinkles that may have occurred during shipping. Using a rug pad will also safeguard your carpet from deterioration and, therefore, extend the life of your rug.
